Homebound Director & Wife: J.W. & Joy Kirk

Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

2 Corinthians 1:4

J.W. Kirk - J.W. Kirk 2010Our Missional Purpose

To assist and minister to the homebound members of Parkway Baptist.

To encourage our members to remember this group with kindness.

To provide our members an opportunity to serve God using their gifts and skills.

Many Homebound members have been members of Parkway Baptist for years, if not lifelong members, and served our Lord faithfully to help the ministry to become what it is today. The Homebound Ministry provides an opportunity to minister to our senior saints.

    Who Are The Homebound Members?

Persons who cannot regularly attend due to being severely handicapped physically, persons with declining health, or aged persons unable to get out. The Homebound Ministry recognizes the persons who care for their homebound family members are also in need of ministry. Many Homebound persons deal with the frustration of declining physical ability and mobility. They often experience spiritual isolation and need individual attention.

How To Become A Homebound Volunteer?

If you would like to be a part of this ministry please see J.W. Kirk or call the office.  You can impact our homebound by lending an ear and touching their heart.

    Homebound Objectives:

    • To relieve the homebound with practical self-help projects.
    • To enable volunteers in meeting the needs of the homebound.
    • To provide love, support, prayer and spiritual education by providing Biblical literature approved by the pastoral staff of Parkway Baptist.
    • To support the spiritual development of our homebound.

    Homebound Opportunities:

The Homebound Ministry will meet once a month on the day selected by the ministry director. The day selected will be published in the church bulletin.

This ministry provides visits, phone calls, cards, church provided gifts for special occasions, as well as, anything else to encourage this group. Homebound Ministry volunteers carry out this vital ministry. We want those members confined in their home to feel a part of the Parkway Baptist's family too!

    Homebound Organization:

Volunteers must go in teams of two or more. Volunteers are not to go alone.

All volunteers must consent to a background check.

All gift items will be provided and approved by our deacons. No reimbursements will be given without proper approval from the Pastor or Associate Pastor.
